2009 Best Buy @15 Scholarship Winners Announced
$1.5 Million in Scholarships Awarded

Best Buy’s @15 Scholarship Program is pleased to award $1,500 scholarships to 1,000 students living in the U.S. and Puerto Rico who will be entering college in the fall after their high school graduation. Scholarships were awarded to students in grades 9-12 who demonstrated academic achievements, volunteer efforts and work experience. Best Buy’s @15 Scholarship Program helps fuel the @15 mission. Through @15, Best Buy and Best Buy Children’s Foundation is focused on opportunities to help teens thrive and an @15 scholarship is helping students prepare for a brighter future with dollars for college tuition.

With the inception of the scholarship program in 1999, Best Buy has now provided nearly $14.5 million in scholarship funds to help more than 11,000 students. The program was restricted to high school seniors in the past but was expanded in 2009 to include grades 9-11. More than 147,000 students registered for this year’s program. Scholarships awarded in each grade are:

  • Grade 9: 20
  • Grade 10: 40
  • Grade 11: 90
  • Grade 12: 850
