Variety is the spice of life

Do you like chocolate ice-cream? We do too. But sometimes we like vanilla, or strawberry, or all three together, a curiosity known as Neapolitan. (Ever notice how the strawberry is always left in the carton? Kinda makes you feel sad for the strawberry. We digress.)

The secret to our success.

The point is, it's a big, wide world out there — and one size doesn't fit all. As we have grown, we've learned new things and seen that there are new places to grow. As we have said repeatedly, and will continue to repeat, our formula is simple: we look for unmet customer needs, and then we look for the best way to meet those needs and serve those customers in order to grow.

Sometimes we can do it on our own, like creating our own exclusive brands. Think we just sell products from other companies? Not anymore!

Sometimes we need to partner with someone, like we have with The Carphone Warehouse group to develop Best Buy Mobile.

Sometimes an acquisition makes sense, like it did with Geek Squad.

All in all, we're finding growth by thinking differently and using our assets to follow the customer. That's why an important part of our growth story is the portfolio of assets, skills and people we're building. Because some people actually prefer strawberry.
